------------------------------------- 1967 --------- ads are grouped by year --------------------------- 1967 Cougar for sale                                             (added 02/12/17) I bought this car from my great-uncle in 2000 as a 14 year old with the high hopes of restoring it. My great-uncle’s son was into racing and in 1998 he and his racing team rebuilt the motor to perform better with an oversized cam. After buying it, I added a Holley 4-barrel carburetor; true dual flow-masters; new brakes and lines; a new fuel tank; and some other minor repairs. As a teenager, this cougar project turned idle and has remained idle for the past 17 years. The engine literally has be driven less than 100 miles since this 1998 rebuild, but due to not being ran, the motor does seem to need some seals replaced such as head gaskets. I have kept this cougar garaged stored for the past 12 years, and from 2000-2004, I stored it under a car port. I live 450 miles from where the car is currently stored at and because of the distance, the last time I had an opportunity to start the car was in 2008. The body is in expected condition for never having been restored. The Passenger’s floor pan needs replaced and driver’s side couldn’t hurt to be replaced either. Passenger’s door has a small rust hole that needs to be addressed. With very little work, It can still be driven – that is to say that it is not a “rust bucket” for salvage; the trunk has some rust but it hasn’t rusted through to the point that the rear end sets on the ground as has been the fate of many unibody classic Mustangs and Cougars. I coated all the critical areas that had any rust with ospho rust inhibitor in order to halt the oxidation process. I removed the rear glass and gasket to stop some corrosion under the gasket, and I also removed the vinyl top to prevent any corrosion from beginning. Car used to be a daily driver and then I lost interest. It has been sitting in storage for a while.  The last time it was on the road on a regular basis was 2008.  I recently got the car out of storage.  It runs and will drive down the road.  It does need some TLC since it has been sitting. The car is pretty solid.  Although, I did notice some paint bubbling around the wheel wells.  Also many years ago, the car was backed into in the driver’s side door.  Whoever did the body work did a pretty poor job and you can see where they puttied it.  I’d like see the car go to someone who has the time and interest to do something with it.  This is not a matching numbers car.  I am going to go through the car and see what it will take to get it back to a safe daily driver (ball joints, brakes, etc).  I will likely put some time/money into it and start driving it again in the spring if nobody buys. I also have a few boxes of spare parts like tail light assemblies, hub caps, dash components, original steel wheels, etc. Email or call/text for more details. The car is located in Lebanon, Ohio. Price $6500 obo. I do have the title in my name.
